The you@web Web Services Connector
Web services enable the user to access services that run on an external server, on the Internet, or in the company's internal network.
Good examples for web servies are translation services on the Internet, order processes in an online shop, or the call-up of customer information via the intranet.
The you@web Web Services Connector (WSC) is a tool enabling you to use existing web services from the Internet or other networks within a website. The services are displayed according to the layout settings of the website but can be adjusted individually. The call-up runs via a web form and the results appear as a part of the existing page.
The data transfer is handled via HTTP and the standard protocol SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), which writes all parameters needed for the call-up into an XML document. This document acts as an envelope for parameters and content and thus enables a platform-independent and application-spanning information exchange.
